Feasibility Study Timeline Update
Now through the end of May, the Building Committee is documenting the school's educational program, generating an initial space summary, documenting existing conditions, establishing design parameters and developing alternatives (full or partial renovation and/or new construction). After submitting a Preliminary Design Program to the MSBA by June 11th, the Building Committee will take the next 50+ days to evaluate the alternatives, choosing the most efficient and educationally responsible option by August 6th, the deadline for the District to submit its Preferred Schematic Report (PSR) to the MSBA. Once the PSR is approved by the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) in September, the next three months will be spent developing detailed designs of all aspects of the building.
The Building Committee needs your help to make the project a great investment for our communities! In the coming weeks and months there will be opportunities to share your ideas and insights regarding improving the MG facility. Do you know of building designs worth considering? Efficiency measures used in other schools or institutions which we should explore?
