Activities at Greylock: Upcoming Events and Winter Registration

Good Afternoon Mount Greylock Families,

The fall season has been full of exciting, successful events and the next season is just around the corner. Registration for winter athletic programs and the school musical are open and will be needed prior to student participation. Please take a moment to view the information below about recent and upcoming events. Performances

Students involved in the school Shakespeare Program will perform “The Tempest ” on Friday and Saturday November 14th & 15thin the Mount Greylock Auditorium. Ticket will be available at the door. Additionally, students will be performing as part of The Fall Festival of Shakespeare at Tina Packer Playhouse Friday, November 22nd at 6:15pm. Single show tickets or festival passes are available online.

There will be a Greylock Plays at Night School Talent Show on December 6th at 7pm.  Auditions will be on November 22nd & 25th.  Check the TV Screens and flyers around the building for more information next week.

Auditions for the School Musical will be on Monday and Tuesday, December 9th & 10th. Performances will be on February 27th, 28th & 29th in the Mount Greylock Auditorium. Contact Director, Jeff Welch with specific questions about the show or Lyndon Moorsif you are interested in being a part of the Pit Orchestra.

 

Winter Athletics

Please register for winter sports soon to ensure that students are able to participate on the first day, Monday, December 2nd. Students that wait until last minute to register may not be able to participate due to the time needed to verify information. Registrations received after 8pm on December 1st will not be approved in time for a student to participate on the first day of practice. Missing this day for those sports with team try-outs could negatively affect a student’s chances of being selected for a team. Fees are due by Friday, December 13th unless a team has a contest or scrimmage prior to that date, then the participation fee will be due prior to that event. Students need to ensure the school has an updated physical prior to beginning the season as well.

The Parent/Athlete Meeting will be on November 21st at 6pm in the school cafeteria. All students interested in participating in a winter sport at Mount Greylock must attend with a parent unless they attended the meeting this past fall. Please view the registration link for meeting dates for our cooperative teams (Alpine, Ice Hockey and Swim).
