It is fast becoming the season when Mother Nature may begin to throw snowy or icy conditions at us which necessitate school delays, cancellations or early dismissals. A lot goes into making snow day decisions and we take this very seriously. Our administrative team is in close contact with the town road crews, the bus company, and superintendents from other districts. If the weather is such that we need to cancel or delay, we do our best to let you know by 6:30am. In rare occasions, we make a call the night before, though that is not standard practice.
In the event that we need to alter the school day due to weather, we will get the information out to you in a variety of ways. Our first posts will be to our Instagram (@williamstown_elementary) and Twitter (@WES_Principal and @WES_AP) accounts and on our school website. We will then send robocall phone messages to all households. You will also be able to find the pertinent information on all the local television, radio and news sites: WBRK, WUPE, WWLP-TV channel 22, WNYT, WTEN, WTRY/WPYX, the Berkshire Eagle, and iBerkshires.
As a reminder, if we call a two hour delay the buses will run their regular routes, just two hours later, and school will open at 10:35am. On those days, the morning Side by Side session is canceled.
