News from the SEE Fund Board

The Mount Greylock Sustaining Educational Excellence (SEE) Fund is thrilled to announce that we have committed just under $20,000 toward programs and activities at Mount Greylock Regional School for the 2019-2020 school year! The SEE Fund’s annual grant application process wrapped up in early October with six of the 17 applications submitted coming directly from Mount Greylock students.

In early November, the SEE Fund Board elected to fund 14 projects for this school year.  Recipients this year include a new guitar and ukulele program, a Model UN Conference, exciting field trips and auditorium stage flooring for Mt. Greylock’s theater productions. In addition, three grants were awarded in memory of Maurice Filler, a former Mount Greylock teacher and administrator, including a book club for Mount Greylock students and residents of Sweetwood, display materials and equipment for the Mount Greylock Library Media Center, and the creation of a job shadowing program for students.

The SEE Fund was established in 1996 as the first nonprofit educational endowment in Berkshire County. It is managed by Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and governed by a volunteer board of students, faculty, staff, and parents of the Mount Greylock Regional School. To date, the fund has distributed more than $250,000 in small grants to provide extra educational opportunities for students and teachers.

We are grateful to serve as managers of the grant process of this important fund for the community at Mount Greylock. It is critical that we continue to build our endowment fund so that opportunities for these types of valuable programs are available in the future. Please consider making a contribution to the SEE Fund as part of your year-end giving. You can make a gift online at or mail a check payable to BTCF with “SEE Fund” in the memo line to Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, 800 N. Main Street, Sheffield, MA 01257.
We are thankful for your support. Best wishes for happy holidays and a healthy new year!
