Below are some frequently asked questions about our school. Feel free to contact the Main Office if you have any further questions.
Q: How do I report my student as absent for the day?
A: There are two ways to report your student as absent. 1) Call the school and press 4 or enter extension 192 to report the absence. 2) Email our absent email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) to report the absence.
Q: What grades does the Williamstown Elementary School service?
A: We teach Kindergarten through 6th grade here at WES. We also have a limited Pre-K program (Side-by-Side) for ages 3 to 5.
Q: What are the school day hours?
A: During the school year, WES operates from 8:35am (first bell) to 3:05pm (dismissal bell).
Q: Can I attend WES if I live in another town?
A: WES is available only for students who live in the town of Williamstown, MA. We often offer School Choice slots to students in other Massachusetts towns, but they are generally limited and must be applied for in the spring through the District Office. If selected for School Choice, parents will need to provide their own transportation for their student(s) to and from school.
Q: Do you offer a before or after school program?
A: Except for extra-curricular activities throughout the school year, we DO NOT offer a before or after school program. Feel free to check out the Williamstown Youth Center right next door.
Q: When should I enroll my child for Kindergarten?
A: Enrollment for Kindergarten generally begins in the spring (April 15th) and we hope to get all registration paperwork into WES before June 1st.
Q: If there is a half-day posted on the calendar, what time is dismissal?
A: Half-days at WES begin at the normal time (8:35AM) and students will be dismissed at 12:00PM, or noon.
