A Message from the Athletic Director re: The Fall Season
Posted 08/09/2021 02:40PM

Dear Mount Greylock Families,

An early welcome back for those returning to Mount Greylock this fall, and a welcome for those joining Mount Greylock for the first time! Students and families have begun receiving information for the new school year and the physical mailing with many important documents including student schedules and the academic calendar will arrive to families late next week.

This particular message is to ensure students and families are also aware of the interscholastic athletic opportunities offered through Mount Greylock. It seems like just last week that I was watching our spring athletic programs finish their post-season performances, but it is already time to begin preparing for the fall athletic season which will begin in two weeks!

This fall, eight different athletic opportunities will be offered through Mount Greylock.

*Team selections will be determined after a tryout period in the sports of golf, soccer and volleyball.
Middle School students may be asked to try again the following year if participation interest is higher than roster size can accommodate.
Coaches can be contacted through their school email address by selecting their name above.

Important Information

  • The fall athletic season begins prior to the start of classes and pre-registration as well as attendance at a mandatory preseason meeting is required.
Please ensure that any student interested in participating is completely registered and that a copy of a recent physical exam is on file with the school nurse.
  • Preseason meetings will be sport specific and will occur virtually during the week of August 16th. Attendance at this meeting is required for any interested student and a guardian.
As coaches set the date/time for their respective meeting, I will add those dates to the athletic calendar.  This calendar also includes current contest schedules.
Links to access each virtual meeting with the coach will be sent to registered students.
  • Athletic Registration is online and requires a parent/guardian signature.
Here is a "Step-by-Step Guide" to athletic registration for those new to the process.
I would recommend completing the required NFHS Concussion Course prior to beginning the registration process.
  • Registration must be completed by 8pm the evening prior to the first day of practice (or a tryout) to ensure student will be eligible to participate.
Students that register after 8pm the evening prior will not be cleared in time to participate and students that do not register will not be able to participate.
Missing a practice may affect team selection for those sports with a tryout period.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the information contained in this email or the upcoming season.  While it is possible that some adjustments will be necessary to programs this fall due to updated safety measures, those details have not yet been provided by the state.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this fall!
