MIAA Announces Lindsey von Holtz as the 23rd President of the MIAA Board of Directors

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) is pleased to announce Lindsey von Holtz as the 23rd President of the MIAA Board of Directors.

Lindsey has been working in education for twenty years as a teacher, coach, advisor and athletic director. She is in her 14th year as Athletic Director at Mount Greylock Regional School in Williamstown, MA. She received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA and a master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Springfield College. Lindsey split time between the classroom and as Athletic Director for five years at Mount Greylock and then transitioned to her current position as Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities. Until this season, Lindsey also served as the Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach since program inception in 2012.

Lindsey strives to improve the leadership skills and level of sportsmanship within Mount Greylock and across Berkshire County. She was key to organizing the 1st Annual Berkshire County Leadership Summit in 2012 and has organized and often presented at the county event each year since including a virtual event during the 2020-2021 school year. The event aims to bring together students from across the county to teach and discuss how students can lead their teams and schools. This event summarizes the educational athletics values that Lindsey aims to bring to Mount Greylock, Berkshire County and the MIAA.  Mount Greylock has been honored with the District G Sportsmanship Award four times while Lindsey has been Athletic Director.

 

Lindsey’s involvement in the MIAA includes serving on the Board of Directors since 2014 and as the Chair of the Finance & Personnel Committee for the past two years. She has served on the Girls Lacrosse Committee since 2013 and became the Chair in 2017. Additional MIAA Committee involvement includes the Boys Lacrosse Committee (2013 – present, Vice Chair 2019 - present), the Sportsmanship Committee (2010-2017), the Cross Country & Track Committee (2008 - 2013) and the Volleyball Committee. Lindsey was a facilitator during the first three years of the New England Student Leadership Conference and she has attended the MIAA Leadership Institute. Lindsey has been a presenter at the MIAA Sportsmanship Summit at Gillette multiple times.

 

In addition to Lindsey’s service and commitment at the state and local levels, she has received numerous awards and recognitions. Lindsey was honored with the William N. Gaine Jr. Sportsmanship Award in 2018. She was named MSSADA District G Athletic Director of the Year in 2014 and 2020. She was the recipient of the MSSADA District G Presidents Award of Merit (2016), the MSSADA District G Ted Damko Award (2012) and was the District G Rich Lewis Award Nominee (2018, 2020, 2021). Lindsey is looking forward to working with all those involved in the MIAA to assist in recovery from a tough year and looking forward to a year full of educational athletic opportunities.
