I am so excited to introduce myself as the band and choral director here at Mount Greylock Regional School. My name is Jacqueline Vinette, and many of you may know me from my nine years as music teacher at Lanesborough Elementary School. While I have loved my time at Lanesborough, I have always had a strong passion for teaching music at the middle and high school level, and I am so excited to start my next chapter with all of you. This position is truly my dream job - I couldn't be happier! Our music programs are already known throughout the county as being top notch, and I know that together, we can continue to refine and enhance our performances and musicianship!
I know that this is a very anxious time for many of us. I never would have anticipated beginning the year in such unique circumstances, but I strongly believe that music brings people together, and it will continue to help us get through these trying times. Your music family will be here for you. Every single member of every ensemble is greatly valued and we will continue to learn together, no matter what that may look like in the fall.
This summer, I've been spending lots of time preparing for many different scenarios, learning new rehearsal techniques, and training on different technological platforms. I'm excited to continue to be in contact with you and learn more about your musical achievements and goals. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if you would like to introduce yourself and share any thoughts you may have about the upcoming year.
Dear Mount Greylock Music Families,
Greetings! This is my first official message to families at Mount Greylock.
I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Patrick O'Connell. My wife, kids and I live in Bennington, VT. I have happily spent the last 11 years working at Bethlehem Central School District and performing with various orchestras and ensembles in the Capital Region and Tri-State area. I cherish the time I spent working with the Bethlehem students and enjoyed collaborating with my co-workers immensely. However, my family life has become more and more centered in the Williamstown/Bennington area. My family and I have come to love the people, culture and setting of this beautiful community. When the music position at Mount Greylock Regional Schools opened, it was a dream come true.
This current pandemic has been a trying and difficult time for all of us, particularly our young people. As a music teacher, I am convicted that music will be a balm of healing for our tired world. I am so excited to begin working with Mount Greylock's young musicians.
I am preparing to use all the tools, technological and personal, at my disposal to engage students and encourage them in their musical achievements.
Please feel free to reach out (parents and students alike) to introduce yourself and share your ideas, thoughts, and hopes for this coming year. I look forward to meeting all of you in the coming weeks!
