Dear Mount Greylock Student and Families,
At Mount Greylock, we strive to provide the best opportunities for teaching and learning. We recognize the ever-increasing importance of digital technology and the incorporation of 21st century skills in the lives of our students. As digital natives, our students deserve every opportunity to develop skills necessary for them to be successful in college and the workplace. Strategic technology integration is key in supplementing an authentic, engaging, and relevant learning environment for students. After ongoing exploration, evaluation and thoughtful discussions, the time is right for Mount Greylock Regional School District to move forward with a 1:1 Chromebook program.
Beginning on October 18, 2017, every student in grades 8 -12 will be eligible for a HP Chromebook. Students will be able to use the issued Chromebook at school and at home for educational purposes.
Chromebooks will be distributed only to parents and guardians. Three evenings have been reserved for distribution:
Wednesday, October 18 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Thursday, October 19 5:30pm - 7:00pm
Monday, October 23 5:30pm - 7:00pm
To help us effectively staff the evening, please complete this form.
While students are invited to accompany their families, their presence is not required for Chromebook distribution. Students will be completing their Responsible Use agreements in school.
Please read the documents linked below and complete the Parent/Guardian Agreement & Waiver of Liability prior to picking up the Chromebook. Bring the completed form along with a photo ID to the Library during the evening you select. If you cannot print the forms, there will be copies available at each distribution evening.
Anticipate that the distribution process may take up to 30 minutes to complete depending upon the number of parents/guardians in attendance.
If you have questions after reading the linked documents, please contact Eileen Belastock, Director of Academic Technology, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many thanks for your support with this initiative and cooperation during the distribution period.
